“Come take me out of this dull world, - for I would ride with you upon the wind,
Run on the top of the dishevelled tide, & dance upon the mountains like a flame.”

Deep and terrible scarring that runs across her back, from below her shoulder blades, down at an angle over her ribs, and down over her hips and abdomen - they look like scars from wounds that would have taken a life. Pierced ears with studs and hoops, a septum ring, and studs at the corners of her lips.

❖ Freyja is, by all rights, a mischievous spirit - she revels in creating an atmosphere of jovial excitement, often taking part in riling up a crowd; after all, she is a dancer by heart and trade. She lives to see other people smile, to see them forget about their worries, if only for a moment - she will go out of her way to help others, sometimes even as a detriment to herself. She cares for others more than herself in most cases, almost to a fault - she is kind and forgiving, even if it hurts her in the long run. This isn't to say she is gullible or easy to abuse; she's a fiercely intelligent woman, quick on her feet and sharp of tongue - she holds any who would banter with her back and force in high regard. She is easy to read, wearing her emotions on her sleeve - her face is incredibly emotive, her motions fluid and, sometimes, exaggerated in a comical way - that isn't to say she is all smiles and laughter, as one person can never be something always, forever. She isn't easily flustered, and will often flirt with others - though she prefers to let things go where they may; her flirting has no true end goal, and she is happy to live in the moment, letting the wind take her where it will. That being said, Freyja's heart is timid when it comes to becoming truly close to another person, as she is easily hurt and unsure, having both the advantage and disadvantage of often being carried away by her emotions.Like many who have lived lives as long as she, old emotional wounds still prick and pain her heart, making her hesitant to pursue her own feelings; oftentimes she will stay quiet, letting anything deeper than surface emotions fester and stew, especially if she believes that person may not understand, or not reciprocate. She is content to hold her tongue so that others may remain comfortable - so that she doesn't uproot anyone. She is somewhat jaded in romantical endeavors, having been the subject of a sore love that ended in pain, as many do; she is no stranger to love lost, and she dreams of what could have been and what could be, though realistically they are just that - thoughts, dreams, something to think about when the day winds down and the stars peek out over the horizon.Reckless at times, especially concerning the well-being of others, she is more than willing to risk her own life and limb to help those who need her - as is her way. It was this same prodding at her heart that led to the accident years ago that marred her pallid skin with maplines of scarring. Freyja is an adventurous sort, with the wild in her blood - she often coaxes the same out of others, believing that there is something wild and untamed in everyone, and to deny it is to deny the whole of yourself in spades. Those who would dance, those who would laugh and lose themselves in the moment - those whose tender hearts beat beneath hardened exteriors, work-scarred palms turned toward the moon - those are Freyja's types of people, and this she will exclaim loudly and with fervor.

❖ Freyja was born to a nomadic Viera tribe as Kaðlín of Asgeirsa; they moved as the Wood willed it, and she spent the majority of her life within the tribe learning their native magic and the ways of her ancestors - the dance, the song, the language; the runic script that was lovingly penned into her flesh before her departure. She, however, was not the only Asgeirsa viera who left the Wood - after a strange vision crept into the dreams of the sleeping women, the entirety of the tribe gathered to speak, and made a mass exodus out into the wilds of the world. To travel, to dream - to sleep beneath foreign stars, to listen to the stories others held close to their hearts during their own journeys.Freyja was one such woman who reveled in these journeys - she traveled far, from Othard to the distant shores of Eorzea, eventually amassing a small group of like-minded individuals whom she taught the well-guarded secrets of her tribe - to dance as they did, beneath the starlight; to come together as a harmonious whole, to lift mind and body and spirit in a way that scarce could be explained with words. They traveled Eorzea for a time, entertaining any who would wish to listen, to watch - and thus did they bring something magical to all paths they tread, leaving a little of them behind everywhere they went. She was happy, for a time, even going so far as to fall in love with an elezen man by the name of Cadreaux who had taken her teachings to heart - but nothing lasts forever, and the summer of this dream faded to autumn, and autumn to a cold, bleak winter. Things fell apart when she realized that Cadreaux was not the man she thought he was - that he held yet another behind her back, and Freyja, always eager to put others above herself, was unsure of how to reconcile the emotional turmoil without hurting anyone but herself. Her answer came in the form of an unfortunate accident (one that Freyja speaks little of, even now, as if the memory of it is tainted and leaves her tongue bruised with even a simple whisper of it) that left the dance troupe without her, and Cadreaux wrested control of the group after leaving her for dead. A gracious friend happened upon her and brought her back to health, and Freyja settled into a life of quiet reservation for a time, allowing herself to heal her injuries. Now, though healed physically, that point in her life still haunts her, as it would anyone - but still yet, her heart thrums for adventure, to return to the ways she knew all her life.

❖ Years ago, Freyja was a very talented troupe dancer, with an emphasis on ability to do battle with her weaponry - before an accident forced her out of the scene for quite some time so that she could recover. She looks unassuming, but she's a fluid and skilled dancer and fighter. Perhaps your character might know of her from that time in her life, or is interested in learning - that is, if they recognize her. She doesn't divulge her past readily, at least to those who haven't earned the story.❖ In terms of adventuring and exploring, as said before, her heart will always be wild - so even though she lives a rather domestic life now, she didn't used to, and it wouldn't be difficult to ask her for help with something that involved adventuring or exploration, if they made a damn good impression on her.❖ It would be easiest to catch her in La Noscea somewhere - she has familiar haunts near the coastline, and is often found sitting back with a drink to people-watch in taverns, near a window that allows her to listen to the crash of the ocean waves against the shore. She can also be found listening to bards in busy city squares, watching dancers with admiration as they entertain, often with a look of nostalgia on her face. She is a very easy person to strike up a conversation with, and is more than willing to share stories and witty banter. She's very outgoing.❖ To break up the monotony of her life, she will sometimes take odd monster hunting jobs here and there, especially if the monster in question is one that is causing trouble or hurting others nearby.❖ Freyja loves listening to people talk about themselves, their passions, their stories and experiences and what makes them who they are. It's a joy for her to see that bright sparkle of excitement in another person's eyes, to listen to them talk about what makes them feel alive. She is a good listener, and even if you just need someone to talk to, Freyja will happily listen.❖ She owns a venue in the Mist, the Red Velvet, a dance stage and bar. They host dance troupes and entertainers of all sorts, and are known for having a wide variety of liquor, some even strange and unusual. One can often find her here, chatting up customers and bantering with her employees. (Her apartment is above the building itself!)❖ Anything else you can think of that isn't here? These are just a few things I could think of at the time - if you think of anything else, please let me know - I'm quite friendly and love to plot!

❖ Player name: Ink
❖ Player age: 33 years
❖ Player gender: Non-binary/afab
❖ Discord contact: Ink#7154 - Discord is most likely the best way to contact me.
❖ Preferred RP platform: Discord is certainly easier for me, especially in regards to post length, but I like roleplaying in-game, too.
❖ Timezone: USA, Central❖ RP Type: Dark and mature themes are A-OK with me. E-RP tends to squick me out because of obvious issues with some people being unable to separate OOC and IC, but it's not an impossibility. I don't like to roleplay for the sake of E-RP. I like creating stories. The only way you'd get anything out of Freyja is if she and your character had enough character development together, and it was relevant to the scene or story (and, of course, I trust you as an OOC player). My keywords here are "only if relevant to the story". I love storyline-oriented roleplay, with all the good stuff like foreshadowing and nuances and symbolism.❖ Shipping? In regards to shipping/romantic relationships, I'm open to this, with OOC discussion beforehand. I want to make sure we're on the same page, and your character is a good fit for her. Obviously we can throw them at each other to see how things work out, though! I prefer to develop relationships organically - if it doesn't happen naturally, I'd rather have it not happen at all.❖ Walk-ups or tells? Yes please! I totally love walk-ups, and I'm cool with tells, too. Even if I don't have my tag on, if you'd like to roleplay or just chat about our characters or plot and brainstorm, please do so! I love plotting and making new friends and stories.❖ 18+ roleplayers only, please. I don't have anything against younger folk, but I do not feel comfortable roleplaying with people under 18 IRL, even if it doesn't go anywhere violent or suggestive.❖ OOC and IC are absolutely separate, please remember this. I am not my character. Just because my character feels a certain way about yours (regardless of what feeling), doesn't mean I feel that way toward you as a player. What you know outside of roleplay, you do not know in roleplay - unless we have discussed things beforehand, please practice common courtesy and don't use any information you gain out of character, for in-character purposes.❖ I try to length-match my partner's posts when I roleplay, but generally I write whatever length I feel comfortable with, and tend to stick with what feels right for that particular scene and interaction. Sometimes I'll let my writing get away with me, especially if it's an emotionally charged scene. I tend to be more descriptive and lengthy with some characters than I am with others, depending on the subject material.❖ No OOC drama, please. I'm not here to bicker and fight about things, I just want to write and have fun with friends. I'm not interested in OOC/IRL relationships, and I'm not interested in immediately exchanging life stories. (Sorry!) That doesn't mean I'm not friendly, though! I like to know the people I roleplay with, but I'm painfully shy when it comes to first impressions and all that.❖ I generally tend to stray away from in-character combat scenarios unless planned beforehand, as those can stress me out as a player, and I'm not very good at them unless they're against NPCs in the story.❖ Don't attempt to maim or heavily scar my character without discussing this with me first. Character death is off the table.❖ I don't mind doing in-game roleplay if you can catch me around, but I generally prefer discord roleplay. I may not reply right away, as I have a full-time job and many things to do at home.

❖ Despite looking sweet and soft, Freyja is a fairly skilled fighter. She's just traded in a lifetime of adventuring, traveling and dancing for something a little less dangerous for a little while, until the dance calls her back to her feet. Her heart will always be wild with song and dance.❖ In terms of dancing, Frey uses magic native to her own tribe in the Skatay Range, that she brought with her to Eorzea when she left. It involves illusion magic of sorts, weaving a story through movement with her magic - she was known for creating vivid landscapes on stage, accompanied by the lively shapes of animals and people woven entirely out of aether. She is able to use this same magic to amplify sound.❖ However, Freyja's magic isn't entirely harmless. She weaves a particularly strong and convincing illusion magic, powered by the innermost fears of those who see it - she can use it to unnerve those who would threaten she and her companions, though she herself is not immune to its effects.❖ There is odd, foreign runic script, just a hair darker than her skin tone, tattoed on her arms, legs, stomach, shoulders, back and the dip of her throat. It is difficult to see from far away, though if you're close to her, it's noticeable. If one were to brush their fingertips across the script, it would glow a soft, sparkling gold, fading as they lift their fingers. The runes on her skin also glow when using her magic.❖ Freyja has a godlike tolerance of alcohol, hard or not - much to her frustration. She would make a good drinking partner, although you may not want to challenge her to a contest.❖ She's fairly well-known around La Noscea and Limsa Lominsa in particular. Everyone seems to know her by name, despite the fact that she prefers to take a small role in others lives rather than be the main focus. She's lived in Vylbrand for years. She's generally seen as a helpful sort, and a reliable person people can turn to when something has their mood fouled.
